Yesterday we left
To fight your curse; a course
That long had been defeated
‘Twas your clarion noise
That commoners dare not defy
Now are we returned
From toiling your futile errand
Like soldiers retired home
From an expired war; a barren crusade
That long had lost its taste
We’re back; aye! we’ve been returned
From your glorified servitude
And cheers of your notorious labour
From being plagued afore the scorching sun
And the pounding rain that never cease
We’re back; aye! we’re back
To un-pause the life left behind
To continue our narrative existence
We’re back; aye! We’re back
As though we never did leave.
