Wow! Seems like yesterday when we all came together to wish one another a happy new year. Today, 10 out of 12 months have gone by and we are now already in the penultimate month of 2019. The year that seemed long at first is gradually packing its load, biding us farewell and is about to handover to 2020. Like the old saying affirms, the beauty of a thing is not that it last. Though the year might be fast approaching its end, the memories than were made, the lessons learnt, the successes, the failures, the dramas and many more will continue to linger not only in our minds, but some also in our history books.
It is often said that in this life, you cannot go backward, only forward. Therefore, irrespective of what had transpired in the past 10 months, irrespective of our hopes, dreams, aspiration, and expectation, irrespective of whether or not any of them where achieved, irrespective of our regrets, remorse, guilt or disappointments, irrespective of our happiness, fun, laughter or joy, we have no choice but to keep moving forward. After all, yesterday is nothing but history and today is a gift we cannot afford to squander.
Whether we are prepared or not, November is here and in a couple of weeks, so will 2020. Time invariably waits for no one and fortune on its own part favours the brave. Now is the best time to be brave, to look fate in the face and wrestle with luck. Now is the time to take a chance with destiny, to take a leap of fate, to reach for the sky. You never know how strong you are until you put your strength to test. To quote an anonymous author now is the time to “shoot for the moon; even if you fail, you’ll land among the stars.”
For some, the arrival of November means 2019 has ended already. For some, the year is just beginning to take shape. For some, November is the last month of activity, as they look forward to the festivities that comes with December. For some, November is for reflection. For some, it is just a normal month like every other months of the years. For you as an individual, November is for what?
